Cafe Alamid, Anyone?

Little is known about one of the most costly yet most recognized coffee ever made. It's located only in most countries of South East Asia. It has an ideal taste and aroma which makes it matchless to other coffees. The bean typically called “Cafe Alamid” is produced in Indonesia, Vietnam , East Timor and also the Philippines but is well known and passed out in all areas of the world.

What’s even more unexpected is it’s origin. In contrast to many coffee which come from crops that grow from the soil. This kind of coffee uses it’s term from a small animal called Alamid in the Philippines’ also known as the Asian Palm Civet or the Philippine Civet Cat (though it is not a member of the feline family).

History states it all began when a group of coffee farmers checked out the droppings of these small animals after a night long banquet of coffee cherries. Unmindful of any potential medical issues, these indigenous farmers began washing, roasting and brewing these droppings which eventually became famous and gave way to a completely fresh and unorthodox coffee preparing. A study was performed and scientists created a typical procedure in cleaning and roasting these unique coffee beans to eliminate any harmful germs while keeping it’s distinct taste and aroma. There are also reports that answered why these droppings produce this great tasting coffee. As the beans pass by natural means of digestion inside the Alamid (where it genuinely holds it’s natural form and consistency) – their digestive enzymes are infused into the beans. What makes it much better is the fact that they'll only eat the sweetest and ripest coffee cherries.

Nowadays, Cafe Alamid is beginning to essentially make a name for itself as a top-grade coffee that sells up to as much as a thousand dollars per pound. A few cafes serve them at $33 per cup. The market industry offers various kinds of coffee but Cafe Alamid is without a doubt becoming a lot more well-known and surely, the billions of coffee-drinkers around the world would've a genuine experience with a cupful of this world class coffee.
